I saw my grandfather
He was in my dreams
He was so glad to see me
Nothing inbetween.

In the old world
of bone and breath
he was always so busy
so bereft

It’s not that he didn’t love me
as he went from place to place
Just that there was business
to take the family’s place

And now that he is longing
from wherever he may be
there’s no more business that could keep him
from the happiness of me

And for me it was so full of love
and so joyful for me to see
and to feel the weight of his hug
and all that he know sees

I always new it was within in him
as it always was with me
sometimes our dreams are all we have
to see our life truly
