Imagine if animals began behaving like humans? Even more than they do now. This is an article about bees who seem to prefer junk food to “real” food.
I think it’s tragic in a way because maybe the bees don’t know better. After all the senses (whether human or not) are the main interface between reality and decision. If the bees don’t have the capacity to evaluate their sensory input then they are at the whim of their environment. And if their environment contains a Maraschino Cherry factory or fields of pesticide laden crops, well the bees will do what is in their nature to do. And we humans will get to see more clearly our effects in the world.
