Are We Going To Save Ourselves

We’ve never been here before.
But we’ve never actually been here.
It’s just when the light
of real shines down
evaporating
the things
in front
and
all around us.

Like mist
and through the mist
we see solid land
and it’s a land we don’t know
and it’s a land
and we’re not sure
we want to go closer
and the terror
when we realize
we’re on a ship
and the ship is heading
for that land
and all we can do is
look
from the deck.

We are no longer lost
but we’re not sure
yet about being found.

We’ve never been here before
but as we come out of the mist
we realize,
we’ve always
never been here before
and this is life
and this is real
and this is what
we’ve run from.

We’ve never seen this before,
this 19.
We’ve never seen life
after every moment
we blink our eyes.

We’ve always never been here
so now that we know
are we going to save ourselves?
