Trust

Trust is a product
not a slogan.
It is the result
not an assumption.
It’s tricky though…
and as delicate as silk
and as strong.
It is an environment
like air
you live in it
and breathe it in
and compost it’s waste
and have refinement
it is alive
like a fish
it can grow
and become strong
and wise
or it can be reeled up
and filletted
and devoured
or just left to
die and rot
from which it can spring again.

If you want to build trust
with me
first we must find common ground
and then we must agree
that neither of us knows
what he is doing.
Completely.

And once we have created
the space
to wonder
how to live
together
together
we can begin to build.

And you may never
be allowed
to call a rock
a bird,
and if you do call a rock
a bird
I must, by virtue of your own desire
for trust,
point out to you
that you have forgotten
the nature
of what it is you speak about.

And this agreement
by virtue of our common desire for trust
is the method
and the trust.

The agreement
flawlessly executed
is the Trust.

It is nothing else.
